In his address at the Opening Bell Ceremony, Korkmaz Ergun, the CEO of Borsa İstanbul A.Ş., stated the following:
Today, I welcome you all to your home, to the Opening Bell Ceremony hosted by our Exchange as we celebrate the listing of Ahlatcı Doğal Gaz at our Exchange.
With the high IPO demand, Ahlatcı Doğal Gaz launched an outstanding IPO with a total IPO amount of 3,5 billion TL and sales to 395 thousand investors. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who contributed to this outstanding IPO.
The IPO of Ahlatcı Doğalgaz is the 89th IPO launched in the last two years, that is, in the years 2021-2022. All but 12 of the 88 IPOs launched before the Ahlatcı Doğal Gaz were between 100 million TL and 1 billion TL. Of the remaining 12, 6 are between 50 million TL and 100 million TL, and the other 6 are between 1 billion TL and 2 billion TL. In the previous years, that is, in 2020 and before, when an IPO of 100 million TL launched, we regarded it as a large IPO.
Thus, in the last two years, we've stepped up the gear. Apart from exceptional cases, IPOs, which were generally below 100 million TL in previous years, have been launched between 100 million TL and 1 billion TL in the last two years aside from exceptions.
From now onwards, for the IPOs of 2023 and beyond, Ahlatcı Doğalgaz has given us a green light. Ahlatcı Doğal Gaz has raised the bar. Companies that take the IPO of Ahlatcı Natural Gas as a model and encouragement will be able to come up with larger IPOs. As of now, I expect IPOs to exceed 2 billion TL, which we have not been able to achieve in the last two years. Thus, we will also contribute to the deepening of our capital markets with larger IPOs.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who contributed to this outstanding IPO. I would also like to extend my thanks to the company employees and the intermediary institution. I wish it to be auspicious for our capital markets.
