Borsa İstanbul Private Market was hosted by EGIAD

The “Entrepreneurship, Angel Investment and the Private Market” meeting, organized to foster the potential of the young entrepreneurs in Turkey in terms of quality and quantity, and to promote the entrepreneurship culture among the youth, was attended by Aegean young businessmen.

Yaşar University Research, Development and Application Center Coordinator Selçuk Karaata, Izmir Institute of Technology Transfer Office Director Emrah Tomur and Borsa İstanbul Private Market Manager Recep Bildik delivered speeches at the Entrepreneurship, Angel Investment and the Private Market” meeting organized by Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD). The meeting was organized to foster the potential of the young entrepreneurs in Turkey in terms of quality and quantity, and to promote the entrepreneurship culture among the youth and was attended by Aegean young businessmen.

In his speech at the meeting, Recep Bildik said that Borsa İstanbul Private Market, which was established to contribute to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, was the first of its kind in the world thereupon, the market itself was a model of entrepreneurship. He pointed out that the Private Market aimed at bringing together the entrepreneurs and the investors thus offering financing opportunities for the companies and new investment opportunities as well as a means to liquidate their investments for the investors.

Private Market, different from the other Borsa İstanbul markets, was launched with 119 members in 2014 as a web and member-based platform to offer financing opportunities for the companies without the need to go public, liquidity for the company shareholders willing to sell their shares and new investment opportunities for the investors. The number of Borsa İstanbul Private Market members reached 231 as of May 2015.
