World Investor Week Started with the Opening Bell Ceremony at Borsa İstanbul

 World Investor Week started with the opening bell ceremony in cooperation with Capital Markets Board of Turkey and Turkish Capital Markets Association. There will be panels and seminars for individual investors and real sector companies throughout World Investor Week.

World Investor Week organized by the International Securities Commissions Organizations (IOSCO), will be celebrated in 87 countries from October 1 to October 6. While the each country organises their own events, the opening bell rang for World Investor Week on October 1, 2019 at Borsa İstanbul.

The opening speeches were delivered by  Capital Markets Board of Turkey Chairman Ali Fuat Taşkesenlioğlu, Borsa İstanbul Chairperson of the Board Prof. Dr. Erişah Arıcan, Turkish Capital Markets Association Vice-chairperson Erhan Topaç. There will be panels and seminars for individual investors, university students and real sector companies throughout World Investor Week. Some of the panels that will be held at Borsa İstanbul is “Individual Investor Training Program- My Money and Me”, “Foreign Exchange Rate Management for Real Sector Companies”, “Companies Shares Their Experiences”, “Financial Literacy for University Students”.

 “We will continue to launch new financial products”

In her speech at the opening bell ceremony of World Investor Week, Borsa İstanbul Chairperson of the Board Prof. Dr. Erişah Arıcan stated that ”As one of the leading institutions in our country, we have been carrying out many innovations in order to improve our capital markets. Developing, deeping and expanding the markets operating in our stock exchange with the participation of more stakeholders are among our most important goals.”

At the opening speech of the “Foreign Exchange Rate Management for Real Sector Companies” panel within the scope of World Investor Week, Borsa İstanbul Acting CEO Mehmet Gönen said “World Investor Week is really important to us since our main target group is investors and we are working on to increase the number of investors. When it comes to investor week, the first thing that comes to mind is financial literacy. Financial literacy means to know the financial markets, their financial instruments and to be aware of their risks. So that reminds us of a stock exchange. There are plenty of markets and financial instruments for all kind of investors on our exchange. With all our continuous efforts to have more financial instruments, our exchange is one of the best examples of the world. “
