Atlantic Council Energy and Economy Summit, co-chaired by Borsa İstanbul, to be held in İstanbul

Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, one of the most prestigious meetings of the world of energy and economy, will be held at Grand Tarabya Hotel İstanbul on November 20-21, 2014. Co-chaired by Borsa İstanbul, the theme of the Summit is “Doing Business in Turbulent Times”.

The Summit will table the new global energy map created in the aftermath of the developments in the Middle East, countries’ dependence on energy, non-governmental actors that come to the fore in new conflict areas, and financing new technologies and energy infrastructure.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Ali Babacan, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister H.E. Taner Yıldız, US Secretary of Energy H.E. Ernest Moniz, US Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey John Bass will participate in the meeting, in addition to numerous celebrities from Turkey and abroad. United States Vice President Joe Biden will address a special closing session of the Summit.

Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit will be held at Grand Tarabya Hotel İstanbul on November 20-21 this year. Held for the sixth time this year, the Summit brings together leaders of the energy world as well as ministers and prime ministers from numerous countries, and is entitled “Doing Business in Turbulent Times”.

In addition to Turkish Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Ali Babacan, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister H.E. Taner Yıldız, US Secretary of Energy H.E. Ernest Moniz,
US Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey John Bass, and 350 distinguished guests including more than 30 energy and economy ministers will participate in the Summit. United States Vice President Joe Biden will address a special closing session of the Summit, where he is expected to discuss the political, security, and energy challenges facing the transatlantic community and the wider Eurasian region.

The Summit will search innovative solutions to hot topics such as “energy security”, “global warming”, ”need for clean energy”, “the effect of geo-political status on energy strategies”, and “non-governmental actors that come to the fore in new conflict areas”.
