"e-GKS: Electronic General Assembly System" application, whose constituents and software was developed by the Central Registry Agency of Turkey (CRA), is a prominent action of İstanbul Financial Center Project. The application was awarded the first prize in the “Financial Sector Technology Awards” competition.
"e-GKS: Electronic General Assembly System" application was awarded the first prize in the “Best Use of Online Services" category of the 13th annual FSTech Awards competition, aimed at recognizing the novelties and developments in the sector. The competition was organized by Financial Sector Technologies, a leading magazine of the information systems and technology sector.
e-GKS was developed by the CRA as a system in line with the international standards and arrangements, and is an important project realized as part of İstanbul Financial Center actions. All its constituents and software were developed by the CRA without having recourse to any external resources, and it is a platform that allows the electronic exercising of the rights of domestic and foreign shareholders and holding general assembly meetings at a single center. Not only companies listed on Borsa İstanbul, but all joint stock companies operating in Turkey may use e-GKS and hold their general assembly meetings electronically.
e-GKS is integrated with e-DEVLET (e-government) applications. It allows shareholders to monitor the physically held meeting online from any spot with Internet access, and send their opinions, suggestions and questions on the agenda topics simultaneously. During the voting process, shareholders may vote simultaneously with the physical participants of the meeting, and may receive information and notifications regarding all processes instantly.
Thanks to the application, companies, shareholders, representatives, investment companies and all other related parties can realize all procedures by electronic signature prior to, during and following the general assembly meetings. The application also received research and development support from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), and serves as an information technology system where all information can be archived electronically and all communication can be realized electronically via e-MKK (e-CRA) Information Portal.
