Finans Invest becomes Market Maker for ETF Futures on Borsa İstanbul VIOP

Market making program based on revenue sharing, which was initiated in the Turkish capital markets first time in January 2015, is successfully implemented on single stock futures & options, index and currency options markets on Borsa İstanbul VIOP. Due to market makers, providing liquidity by placing quotations on the market with narrow bid-offer spreads continuously, investors are able to find executable prices at all times. Successfully implemented market making program based on revenue sharing, was expanded to include ETF Futures Contracts as of October 1, 2015.

Finans Invest has been market maker for ETF Futures on Borsa İstanbul VIOP since May 8, 2015. After ETF Futures was included in market making program based on revenue sharing, Finans Invest becomes market maker for ETF Futures within the scope of the new market making program as of November 2, 2015.

Muammer Çakır, Head of Derivatives Market (VIOP) Borsa İstanbul said, “Market making program based on revenue sharing designed by Borsa İstanbul VIOP for capital markets was firstly introduced in single stock futures and options, index and USDTRY options in January, 2015. As of today, there are three market makers (İş Investment, Ak Investment, Finans Invest) for equity futures, two market makers (İş Investment, Ak Investment) for equity index options, one market maker (Garanti Bank) for USDTRY options and five for electricity futures on VIOP. Compared to the same period of the last year, trading volume of single stock futures increased 120 fold and was recorded as 1.2 billion TRY, trading value of index options increased 3 fold and was recorded as 2.1 billion TRY, trading value of USDTRY options increased 176 fold and was recorded as 1.3 billion TRY in 2015 January-September period through the implementation of new market making program based on revenue sharing. The new market making program is now implemented in ETF futures in order to reach the success that we obtain with single stock futures and options, index and USDTRY options. I believe that this development aiming to provide a safe risk management instrument in trading Exchange Traded Fund will make a significant contribution to Istanbul Financial Center Initiative.”
