Borsa İstanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) participated in IDX 2015 Expo in order to promote its products to foreign investors. At the Expo, VIOP officials and VIOP members answered the questions of foreign institutional investors.
IDX 2015 Expo, organized by the Futures Industry Association (FIA) was held in London on June 9-10, 2015. At the Expo, VIOP and VIOP members held one-on-one meetings with asset managers, investment funds, HFTs, hedge funds, banks and other financial institutions.
Borsa İstanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) participated in IDX 2015 (International Derivatives Expo) held in London on June 9-10, 2015. The latest developments in the global derivatives markets were discussed at the Expo.
IDX is the largest derivatives products expo in Europe, with over 1,500 participants. VIOP opened a booth at the Expo and VIOP officials and VIOP members answered the questions of foreign institutional investors on Borsa İstanbul markets. VIOP members were able to access investment companies for one-on-one meetings thanks to the booth. The winner of VIOPS Virtual Portfolio competition also participated in IDX Expo, under VIOP’s sponsorship and met the representatives of companies engaged in algorithmic trading.
At the Expo, VIOP officials informed the participants about VIOP’s total traded value up by 41% in the first quarter of 2015, currency contracts traded value up by 216%, foreign investor interest which doubled, reaching 28% of the total traded value, introduction of single stock and BIST 30 futures and options for trading on the London Stock Exchange Derivatives Market (LSEDM), the upcoming launch of NASDAQ trading system on Borsa İstanbul, and access by foreign institutional investors to Borsa İstanbul data from the point of presence at London Equinix.
