Özerden Plastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. which started its operations in the industry in 1958 and has been producing bubble film of conformity to ISO 9001:2000 for the packaging sector since 1969, started being traded on Borsa İstanbul Emerging Companies Market with the ticker code “OZRDN”.
The shares of Özerden Plastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., which has started its operations in the packaging sector in 1958 and is currently exporting 16 percent of its total trade volume mostly to European Union countries started being traded on Borsa İstanbul Emerging Companies Market with the ticker code “OZRDN” at a price of TL 2.71 as of February 18, 2015.
The gong ceremony organized on this occasion was held at Borsa İstanbul with the participation of Borsa İstanbul Acting CEO Hüseyin Zafer, Özerden Plastik Chairman Hüseyin Nami Özerden and Vice Chairs Mustafa Nadi Özerden and Naci Tamer Özerden.
Hüseyin Zafer: “ We aim to have the ratio of the market value of the companies traded on Borsa İstanbul to GDP at 60 or 70 percent by 2023, thus we waived the initial listing fees.
In his speech at the ceremony Borsa İstanbul Acting CEO Hüseyin Zafer, mentioned that the listing of Özerden Plastik was the first listing on Emerging Companies Market in 2015 and they were expecting many public offerings this year. Hüseyin Zafer pointed out that they believed that there would be signicant public offerings in the future and praised Özerden Plastik for the step that has been taken toward institutionalization and extended his congratulations for their vision and performance.
Hüseyin Zafer underlined that public offering in capital markets enabled companies to access capital with minimal cost and provided significant advantages as there were no requirements for collateral or repayment. Mr. Zafer indicated that through public offering companies were showcased and the companies that were showcased liked to be seen; “Visibility in capital markets is permanent, therefore companies should review their corporate activities. As companies offer their shares to investors in an organized and transparent market, they are presented with opportunities. The distribution of the added value produced here is also quite important for the economy of our country.” he said.
Borsa İstanbul Acting CEO Hüseyin Zafer, underlined that they were working towards positioning Borsa İstanbul as a platform for locating more national and international markets.
Mr. Zafer indicated that as part of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) initiative they met 281 companies in 2014, of which 25 were foreign companies, bringing the total number of companies visited since 2012 to 651 and he added “As part of the Listing İstanbul Project we would like to attract international companies to Borsa İstanbul and we believe initial results of this project will be seen in 2015”. Mr. Zafer also touched upon the incentives for IPO; “SME Support Program for Emerging Companies Market funded by KOSGEB is one of the incentive mechanisms provided to companies getting ready for IPO in Borsa İstanbul Emerging Companies Market. Currently 30 companies applied to this program, 20 of these applications have been accepted and the remaining 10 is under review. Four applications for IPO in Emerging Companies Market are in the pipeline. We work relentlessly to position Borsa İstanbul and Turkish Capital Markets as the indisputable center of the region.” he continued.
Borsa İstanbul Acting CEO Hüseyin Zafer concluded his remarks as follows; “Özerden Plastik is the 423 rd company listed at Borsa İstanbul with its TL 23,7 million of market capitalization.”
Mustafa Nadi Özerden: “This is a significant step for us in our transformation from a family company to a national company through a more institutional structure.”
Vice Chair of Özerden Plastik Mustafa Nadi Özerden, in his speech during the gong ceremony indicated that their journey, started in 1958, gained a whole new dimension with the IPO at Borsa İstanbul which would set the company in a path towards a more institutional structure and facilitate its transformation from an individual to a family and then to a national company.
