The panel entitled “Invest in Turkey: How to participate in Turkish Growth” organized jointly by Borsa İstanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) and Phillip Futures in Singapore on December 4, 2014 attracted significant interest from Asian investors.
In the panel entitled “Invest in Turkey: How to participate in Turkish Growth”, Asian investors were informed about the new opportunity for Asian investors to send orders directly via CQG Trader program to Borsa İstanbul VIOP through Phillip Futures.
In his speech at the panel organized jointly by Borsa İstanbul VIOP and Phillip Futures, Borsa İstanbul Derivatives Market Group Manager Muammer Çakır said, "Since the financial crisis in 2008, the center of capital has shifted to the East. The importance of Asian investors in financing Turkey’s fast growth cannot be denied. The significant interest shown in the panel on Turkey is an indication that this interest is mutual. We will continue to inform Asian investors about how they can participate in this growth by using the financial instruments offered by Borsa İstanbul”. During the panel, a presentation on Borsa İstanbul Equity Market was delivered and also Takasbank Derivatives Settlement Manager Necla İ. Küçükçolak shared important information regarding settlement and counterparty system with investors. In the final part of the panel, Anthony Cohen from CQG Singapore Pte Ltd. delivered an applied presentation on access and sending orders to VIOP from Asia. Following the panel, Borsa İstanbul VIOP officials had one-on-one meetings with the participating investors, sharing information about VIOP products and the latest developments in VIOP.
Borsa İstanbul VIOP also participated in the Futures Industry Association (FIA) Asia Derivatives Conference, and had one-on-one meetings with companies active in risk management, market making, trading platforms, co-location and connectivity services, and those offering algorithmic trading solutions. Within the framework of the two-day event, information on the technological developments in VIOP, the new market making system and products, and the efforts to increase the traded value in the Turkish derivatives market was provided.
Mr. Gazanfer Seyhan, the winner of VIOP Virtual Portfolio Competition organized by Borsa İstanbul VIOP on May 5-30, 2014 also participated in the FIA Asia Derivatives Conference. Mr. Seyhan was awarded this trip for his success at the Competition.
