Equities of Verusaturk Venture Capital Investment Trust started being traded on Borsa İstanbul on November 17, 2015

Equities of Verusaturk Girişim Sermayesi Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş. (Venture Capital Investment Trust) started being traded on Borsa İstanbul on November 17, 2015. On this occasion, an opening-bell ceremony was held at Borsa İstanbul’s foyer.

Verusaturk Girişim Sermayesi Chairman Mustafa ÜNAL, Verusaturk Girişim Sermayesi CEO Serdar ESER, Meksa Yatırım Menkul Değerler CEO Vesile Şarlıoğlu, Borsa İstanbul CEO Tuncay Dinç and Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Associate Professor Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz participated in the opening-bell ceremony.

At the ceremony, Verusaturk Girişim Sermayesi Chairman Mustafa Ünal said, “We are pleased to be here today for the public offering of Verusaturk. We have successfully floated through the recent election period and fluctuating market conditions. Verusaturk is a company that invests in a variety of areas from software to logistics, and from chemistry to technology. Although we were planning to complete the public offering in two days, we did it in just one day. As a result of the public offering, our shareholders’ equity reached nearly TL 110 million. This is the largest public offering realized in Turkey in 2015. With this public offering, we transferred nearly TL 75 million to companies as venture capital. We aim to increase our profitability by transferring this source raised through public offering. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the executives and staff of the Capital Markets Board and Borsa İstanbul for their support. I would like to thank also Meksa Yatırım executives and staff as well as my colleagues at the company. I do hope that this public offering proves beneficial for our new partners, our employees, and the Turkish economy”.

Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Associate Professor Mustafa Kemal Yılmaz said that Borsa İstanbul supports both entrepreneurs and public offerings, and added, “Today, we realized the sixth public offering of 2015. In the new atmosphere, we expect public offerings to increase significantly. Today, with the addition of Verusaturk Girişim Sermayesi Ortaklığı, the number of venture capital investment trusts traded on Borsa İstanbul has increased to 9. Verusaturk is a member of the Private Market, and fortunately, its public offering coincides with the Global Entrepreneurship Week. As Borsa İstanbul, we see entrepreneurship as a seed for public offering. Verusaturk has important investments in this field. I hope this public offering will prove beneficial for them and for the Turkish capital markets”.
